Sustarin® (POM - Polyoxymethylene) is available as semi-finished products in a wide range of dimensions and colours:

We also offer machined components and POM blanks made of Sustarin®(POM) in accordance with customer drawings.

  • Sustarin® H (POM-H). We use exclusively Delrin® to produce Sustarin® H. (Delrin® is a registered trademark of DuPont de Nemours)

SUSTARIN – Modifications

Sustarin® (POM) is available as Sustarin® C (POM-C) and  
Sustarin® H (POM-H) in different modifications, specifically for your requirements. For instance: 

  • Antistatic 
  • Glass-fibre reinforced 
  • Metal detectable 

For Sustarin® H (POM-H) we use Delrin®. (Delrin® is a registered trademark of DuPont de Nemours)

There are also Sustarin® materials suitable for food and drinking water applications:

  • Sustarin® C and Sustarin® C FG: Suitable for food contact in accordance with FDA – Federal Regulations CFR Title 21, Part 177.2415 
  • Sustarin® C FG: Suitable for contact with foodstuffs according to EU Regulation 10/2011/EU, Framework Regulation 1935/2004/EC and Regulation 2023/2006/EC
  • Sustarin® C DWS (Drinking Water Suitable): Manufactured from tested raw material for contact with drinking water in accordance with KTW/DVGW, WRAS, NSF61, WRAS   

POM properties at a glance

POM (polyoxymethylene, also known as polyacetal or acetal) is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic material, which is characterised by its good mechanical properties, high dimensional stability and excellent sliding and wear behaviour. Due to their properties, POM plastics are used as design materials in a wide range of applications of demanding operating conditions. POM is subdivided into POM homopolymers (POM-H) and POM copolymers (POM-C). POM-C has better chemical resistance (e.g. to hot water), while POM-H is characterised by a slightly higher strength.
