Czech customer building motorboats

So romantic can Polystone(r) be: Pontoons with floats made of plastic

Full speed ahead: The ferry is completely built of seamlessly welded Polystone(r) sheets

Sailing yachts and pontoons in Polystone®

A Czech boatbuilder`s yard develops, designs and constructs small and medium-sized ships for daily use. The second source of income is building pontoons and landing stages.

It`s really nothing special, but the ships and pontoons build here are made completely of Polystone® plastic sheets supplied by the Czech Röchling Engineering Plastics, s.r.o.

Alongside sailing yachts and motorboats, the yard builds boats for practically any intended use from small rowing boats right up to 80 meter luxury yachts. This boatbuilder`s yard is especially noted for its workboats employed for the most varied jobs: River cleaning ships, ferries or lifeboats and patrol boats come with the offer.

Speeding at 50 over die Moldova

The latest development of the Czech boat-builder is the ten-ton ferry boat that reaches a top speed of 50 kilometers per hour. Plastic sheets from Röchling have likewise been solely used as the construction material. 7.4 tons of Polystone® P copolymer UV, a special UV-stabilized polypropylene quality, were processed for the 15 meter long and 4.5 meter wide ferry. The sheets are welded together seamlessly during building. The sheets, which were supplied in a special length of eight meters for this application at the customer's request, are extruded in the Czech Republic by REP.

Pontoons and landing stages

The company's second source of income is pontoon construction. Floating pontoons are used as piers in marinas, as ferry terminals or as fishing stages. The pontoons that James Boat produces in a host of different sizes and designs comprise several floating bodies made of plastic. They have a walkable surface that can be covered with wood, for example. The pontoons can be simply set up anywhere and should relocation to another landing stage be necessary, all that is needed is a towboat for transport.

No more painting

For applications in and on water, plastic offers great benefits. On the one hand, the material is easy-to-clean and will do without any special cleaning agents, maintenance products or even paint finishes, which on boats and ships usually have to be renewed on a regular basis. Where necessary, a water-jet is quite adequate for cleaning. What is more, Polystone® P is resistant to many chemicals and also to salt water, so that corrosion is a thing of the past.
